Last Saturday, 16th April, the play “Cinderella” was performed  by the Pino Alto Association in the assembly hall of the students residence “Empeador Teodosio”, in Segovia.

In the words of the organizers “from the beginning we decided to turn this representation into a solidarity activity, and we decided to support Syrian refugees”.

“The members of the cast were not only girls form the association, we decided to make the play open to everyone who wanted to participate and we hung banners around the city inviting people to assist to the casting of the theater play”.

The donations given by the audience will be sent to Jordan in order to support disabled Syrian refugees from the Za’atari refugee camp, who are receiving treatment in the FPSC clinic.

On Saturday 23th April, the IV Musical Comedies Contest organized by the Tamaral Joven Association, in León, took place in the Ciudad de León Auditorium.

The event was well attended. During the contest, youths from 8 to 15 from the youths organizations of Arlanza (Burgos), Oyambre (Santander), Enalba (Gijón), Rúa Nueva (Santiago de Compostela), Adi (Pamplona), Trechel (Valladolid) and Tamaral Joven (León) offered their performances to an enthusiastic audience.

The activity has a supportive goal, according to the organizers, “the goal was for the girls to learn how to dedicate their time not only to have fun and acquire knowledge, but also to help less-favored people”.

A handicraft market was installed in the hall of the Ciudad de León Auditorium with the products made by mothers and volunteers from the Tamaral Joven Asociation. Its raising will be destined to Syrian refugees and to the persecuted Christian families that are sheltered in the Virgen Maria refugee camp in Bagdad (Iraq).

From the Foundation we want to thank the Pino Alto and Tamaral Joven associations for their initiatives and for their work on the raising of awareness about the refugees from Syria and Iraq reality among the people who participate on the aforementioned events.
