From the Foundation we would like to thank all those more than 2,400 persons who joined our #Youarenotalone Christmas campaign, by sending AID MILAD MAYIT (Merry Christmas in Arabic) in your videos.

FPSC works on a project to help prosecuted  Christian families who have been forced to abandon everything, getting sheltered in the Virgin Mary of Bagdad camp*. From there, we confirm how much they need to feel supported by their “brothers” from the West.  This is the reason why we created the “Send your love at Christmas” campaign to let them know, no doubt, they are not alone and are supported by us.

After receiving the greetings, we produced an audiovisual with them and sent it to Bagdad (Virgin Mary refugee camp), Syria, and Kurdistan.

The audiovisual was displayed in Bagdad on December 26th and 31st. This is how they watched us:

This video is a compilation of some of the moments when the Christian refugees families watched it, on December 26th, in the parish hall of the St. Joseph and Saint Therese of Child Jesus Latin Cathedral.; and December 31st, after the Mass said by the Nuncio in the Virgin Mary of Bagdad refugees camp.

It also contains testimonials by the IVE Father Luis Montes, priest of the Latin Cathedral of Bagdad, who helps these families in the Virgin Mary camp.

*Currently, thousands of families in Iraq that don’t want to convert into another religion are forced to abandon their homes running away from the ISIS. They try to avoid being executed, finding themselves in really precarious situations.

In this context, the FPSC launched on December 2014 the “Iraq: a shout of encouragement” campaign (http://fundacionfpsc.org/iraq) to initially soothe the more basic necessities of some families taken in an old school of the Shiite district of Karrada by the Sacred Heart Sisters. Nowadays, a total of more than 130 families, have been reallocated in the Virgin Mary of Bagdad refugees camp. The Foundation is also working, together with those in charge of the camp, to help finding a solution to the many needs on this field.
