The importance of the world wide web as a means of information today is unquestionable. Some go so far as to say that if something is not on the Internet, it does not exist. Without actually believing such information, the Convention 06-C01-009 has been working in recent months in preparation for a website to provide the public with information on the Reserve. Early versions are available in English and Vietnamese, with Spanish and French versions in the works.

The aim of the website is to provide information on the reserve, for both potential tourists and tour operators interested in how scientists and the general public are seeking information on biodiversity alike.

The information sections are:

1. Home: Welcome and general information. You can download the “Sustainable Tourism Plan” by the Convention for the reservation.
2. Nature Reserve: information about the biodiversity of the reserve. You can download the scientific studies conducted by the agreement.
3. Community: Information on the Muong ethnic information inhabiting the reserve, and the system of Community Tourism (CBET) developed by the Convention.
4. Activities: information on tourist activities in the reserve.
5. Contact us: how tourists can reach the reserve and comments on the reserve.

In several of these sections it is possible to download maps on the reserve created by the Convention.

In the coming days, the company that developed the site will give a training course to the staff and local partners of the agreement to take charge of its maintenance. In any case, the contents of the website have been presented in a “timeless” format without including dates, to avoid becoming outdated if updates are not frequent.
