Last January, the final report of the project “Women’s access to the commune Jbel – Habib (Tetuan) to training that enables them to carry out productive activities” funded by Madrid City Council was delivered.

The FPSC has worked in partnership with the Association AMPFR, which is “promoting the Moroccan woman” through the fight against illiteracy, schooling of young rural women, promotion of social actions, economic and cultural rights for women and developmentof income-generating projects for women.

Following this philosophy, we have tried to give rural women a flexible, local education, training and knowledge, which will be a social and cultural service to the marginalized women of the commune of Dar Chaoui, rural Tetuan (although the initial local target for the development of the project was outside the town of Jbel-Habib).

The center has been equipped with necessary technical equipment (embroidery machines, sewing machines, etc.), and office furniture for the classrooms.

During the first year of the center, parallel with the completion of construction works, vocational training in embroidery, tailoring, traditional and modern design, literacy and awareness in the area of Human Rights and Participation policy have already been given.

1,318 women, mainly young and poor rural areas of the region, who want to enjoy the same opportunities as women in the city have benefited from this program.

This project also aims to serve as a pilot project to other regions where it operates AMPFR Association, in order to improve the living conditions of rural women and peri-urban areas, without which there can be no sustainable human development.
