From the FPSC we want, on the occasion of our Christmas cards, to offer the opportunity to send a CRY OF ENCOURAGEMENT to persecuted Christian families forced to abandon their villages in northern Iraq.
A CRY to barbarism, injustice and unreason that terrorist militias of the Islamic State (ISIS) are committing in Iraq, murdering, torturing and forcing Christians and members of other traditional religious minorities to leave their homes and villages. Entire families who do not want abnegate of their Faith are forced to flee to avoid summary execution or forced slavery; in the case of women and children, they are suddenly in a precarious situation.
A CRY OF ENCOURAGEMENT, because with our help we not only help in alleviating their most basic needs, but also the perception of not being alone and having all our encouragement and support.
Most displaced families have found refuge in the north of the country and Kurdistan, but it is estimated that there are more than 5,000 families who have taken refuge in churches and convents in Baghdad, and to them it is addressed the help we will raise.
