Activities of family volunteering, involving parents and children volunteers of the Foundation, started in both cases, for the first time, in the soup kitchen of the Missionaries of Charity in Vallecas.
The FPSC’s family volunteering is designed as an activity whose essential feature is the joint participation of parents and children.
Being an activity that meets the FPSC’s vision to promote values of solidarity, especially among the young, the fact of parental involvement, which ensures a multiplier effect of its impact on families, promotes future social participation to all members.
On October 27, the Edith Stein School began its family volunteer activity with a high turnout of Edith Stein students, parents and teachers at the school.
Adults worked in the dining room and young people devoted their time to cleaning the outside of the center and working in the gardens located in the courtyards.
On November 18, the school of Tablas-Valverde of Las Tablas began its family volunteer activity, with parents and children providing support in the dining room.
During the activity tasks included working in the kitchen, serving in the dining kitchen, and tidying and cleaning the facility.
Family volunteering activities will take place once a month during the school year.
