The FPSC has launched the Enjoy Europe project which aims to promote intercultural values among children and adolescents. Two young EVS who are going to realize this project came to Spain last week.
They are Franziska Fritzberg from Austria and Ross Bouwman from the Netherlands. Both young girls will make their volunteer at the Foundation headquarters and subsequently they will teach, in English, Intercultural workshops on topics related to Europe and other parts of the world, always in a playful way through dialogues, games, songs, presentations, etc.
The goal is for participants to discover other ways of being and doing, open their minds to other places, be comfortable speaking English with people of different nationalities, customs and ways of thinking. In short, that they slowly are aware of their European citizenship. Values such as respect, tolerance and communication are, after all, what is intended to convey.
Meanwhile, Franziska and Ross have expressed enthusiasm for the project and are working to start it as soon as possible. The Foundation welcomed them with open arms and their first weekend they use it to visit landmarks of Madrid.
People working in the FPSC will ensure that the time spent in Spain are full in every way: learning Spanish, meeting young Spaniards like them and knowing the customs, cuisine and way of life of our country.
Last October 1 the FPSC presented its project Enjoy Europe to the Erasmus Program in the Instituto de la Juventud (INJUVE) asking for two volunteers from the European Voluntary Service (EVS). Once the project was approved, the two young European will remain in Spain seven months from January to July.
