The FPSC participates in the LXI Annual United Nations NGO Conference

The FPSC has participated in the LXI Annual United Nations NGO Conference held in Paris from September 3-5, 2008 at the UNESCO headquarters.

This year, the United Nation’s Public Information Department focused the
meeting on the study of the LXI anniversary creation of the Universal Declaration for Human Rights.

The conference provided a gathering of NGO´s and experts in the field of human rights which proved very rewarding for both groups working to improve the same reality.

The most repeated criticism, both in plenary meetings and in sector panels, has been, after 60 years, the lack of state support which is needed in order for the Universal Declaration for Human Rights to become a reality.

It is necessary that younger generations become sensitive to the importance of the Universal Declaration for Human Rights in order to prevent the loss of ground won in 1948.
