Last April 5th, the foundation took part in the IEB Solidarity Forum X edition.  This solidarity event is celebrated every year and brings together more than 30 Foundations and NGOs in the IEB headquarter,  in order  to introduce the social work that they perform, their projects and different forms to collaborate as volunteers.

Among the participant NGOs, in addition to the FPSC, were Caritas Española, Manos Unidas, Sindrome Down Foundation, Asociacion Española contra el Cancer, Fundacion del Valle y la Comunidad de Madrid, that was represented trough Volunteering Sub-Directorate General, Cooperación Internacional and RSC.

The FPSC was represented by José Luis Zatarain, Director of Volunteer and Communication, Rocío García and Carmen Clemente, who take work practices in the Foundation. They reported on the activities related with International Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid projects of the FPSC and on the possibility of collaborating as a volunteer in international cooperation and in Spain.

This action is in the FPSC activity for the education development.

As part of the awareness activity, we had informative material from the Projects that the FPSC is developing nowadays, such as the following:

Those which are co financed  by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation:

2014-2018 Agreement: Sustainable and equitable rural development in the West Bank including the start and use of responsible management of land and water resources for small and medium farmers.

Increased agricultural productivity with environmental and gender focus in East Wellega (Oromiya), Ethiopia.

Promotion of a sustainable rural development in Gaza to reduce vulnerability and increase resilience.
Projects that are co financed by OFID, aimed to empowering vulnerable women  in Paraguay and Guatemala, and to safe water supply and sustainable sanitation in Haiti and Bolivia.

Projects that are co financed by La Caixa Social Work aimed to agricultural development in Peru and health workers training  in Ethiopia.

Students who visited our stand were really interested about the Humanitarian Aid projects that the FPSC is developing:

In Jordan (the FPSC is the only Spanish NGO with a permanent presence in the Za’atri refugee camp) through the interventions of physiotherapy treatments, technical aids distribution or inclusive theater activities (OCHA).

In Iraq, support to the Christian families that have been forced to leave everything behind, in the Virgen María refugees camp in Bagdad.

Emergency aid to Syrian refugees and host population in Lebanon to improve mental health (AECID).

Some of them were interested in collaborating as volunteers and asked about the possibility of take work practices or volunteering in the foundation headquarter.
