This forum of the IEB is an annual event in which attend thirty Foundations and NGOs with the aim of raising awareness of the great work that they are carrying out, the content of their projects and the different ways of collaboration like the volunteer work. Among the FPSC, other NGO´s that has been present were the UNICEF, Caritas, Down Syndrome Foundation, Africa Direct Foundation and Manos Unidas.
Enric Roig, the Project Coordinator in the Middle East, José Luis Zatarain, Director of Communications and Volunteering of the FPSC, and Liza Hakami the volunteer of the headquarter of the FPSC, were expounding and commenting on the activities of the FPSC.
The participation of FPSC in this event was an educational activity for development.
As part of the advocacy, information material was available of the four agreements that the FPSC is currently developing and which are financed by the AECID:
• Convention of 2010-2013: Improving the quality of education, with special attention to the training of teachers in public and private sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
• Convention of 2010-2013: Improving the management of water resources in the agricultural sector to ensure food security in the Palestinian and Jordan Territories.
• Convention of 2010-2013: Improving the quality of primary and secondary education in the Palestinian Territories.
• Convention of 2010-2013: Improving social integration of disabled people in the Middle East by improving their accessibility in social activities.
This forum was also used to raise awareness about the Project of nutrition and education services expansion in the Mother and Child center in Muketuri, North Shoa, Ethiopia. This project is funded by the government of Alcobendas.
Many who were present showed their interest for the volunteer projects of the FPSC.
To promote a high participation the Institute of the Stock Market Studies organizes the “IEB SOLIDARITY competition”. IEB, under the academic alliance remains signed with the London School of Economics. The Institute will award two winners of the contest with an Excellence Programme at the LSE.
This will take place from 9 to 14 September 2013 in the city London. The tasks performed by the participants are on the basis of information received in situ by NGOs during the event.
The IEB SOLIDARITY had a high turnout. Although the event was open to the public, the most attendees were the University students.
