October 15 is celebrated around the world as the International Day of Rural Women, in recognition of “the role and contribution of rural women, including indigenous women, in enhancing agricultural and rural development, improving food security and eradicating rural poverty.”
The FPSC pays homage to rural women, aware of their fundamental role in the economies of developing countries. Among other tasks, they engage in crop production and livestock care, often provide family support, and always reconcile these tasks with the care of their children and elderly.
Currently, the FPSC supports the important figure of rural women in its various development cooperation projects in the Palestinian Territories, Peru, Gaza, Ethiopia and Guatemala.
Through them all, it is hopped to ensure the empowerment of women in their communities, improving their socioeconomic status and their corporate and institutional capacities by incorporating the production process fairly.
