Dated October 6, 2008 was celebrated the opening ceremony of the FPSC’s office in Beirut, Lebanon. From this office, managed by two Spanish expatriates, Mr Pablo Barrera Cruz and Mrs Sara Luis Hannan, the FPSC will coordinate its cooperation-for-development projects that the organization is implementing in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt.

The FPSC’s Director, Mr Juan Kindelán Rosales, pronounced a few words of welcome and recognition to the FPSC’s Lebanese counterparts, and he also transmitted the President’s message, Mrs Pilar Lara. In the content of the message, Mrs Lara assessed their effort, work and commitment throughout 16 years to improve development, stabilization and pacification, as well as the assistance rendered to the poorest in Lebanon.

To the inauguration event attended the following guests: His Excellency the Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon, Mr Miguel Benzo, who was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Fabiola González Colomá; the First Secretary of the Spanish Embassy in Lebanon, Mr Luis Prados  Covarrubias; the President of the Foundation René Moawad, Her Excellency Mrs Nayla Moawad; the President of the ONGD Arcenciel, Mr Pierre Issa; the President, Mr Youssef El Khalil, and the Vice-president, Dr. Ali Ezzeddine, from the Association for the Development of Rural Capacities; the President of the Lebanese Association for Development and Culture, Mrs Maria Elena González; the Programme Coordinator of the AECID in Lebanon, Mrs Irene Bernabéu Esteban; and the President of the ONGD AIDA, Mr Javier Gila.
