The agreement between FPSC and Cambodian Community Based Ecotourism Network (CCBEN) and Non Timber Forest Products (NTFP) have been signed to the implementation of the new project : “Strengthening and development of CBET in Ratanakiri and Mondulkiri provinces, Northeastern Cambodia”
 
This is the second Project that FPSC is implementing in Cambodia, both of them are funding by the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional y Desarrollo (AECID).
For the Management of these projects, FPSC has recruited a new expatriate who will work in Cambodia, this new person adds the Region Representative based in Vietnam.
This new Project strength the work started in the previous year, supporting a sustainable tourism in the region, addressing the tourism as a poverty alleviation tool which supports the socio economic development of the region.
 
Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP) is a Non-Governmental Organization, was set up on 1996 for the studies of non-timber forest products, natural resources, and livelihoods in Ratanakiri province.
 
The Cambodia Community-based Ecotourism Network (CCBEN) was established in 2002. The CCBEN is a local Cambodian not-for-profit, non-governmental, non-partisan association established to serve the public benefit. It is a membership organizations currently composed of 31 organizational members including international and local NGOs and academic institutions and travel agencies and tour operators in Cambodia.   The aim of this network is to promote and support community-based ecotourism in Cambodia as a means to conserve natural resources and alleviate poverty.
 
SNV is a Netherlands Organization which is working in more than 30 development countries. SNV is actively present in 32 countries world-wide employing more than 1,500 staff.
 
Ratanakiri and Mondulkiri are situated in the north west of Cambodia, they are two most remote and desolate region in Cambodia, they present two highest poverty rates in the Country.
