On May 8, a meeting was held at the headquarters of the FPSC with the Head of International Projects of the ONCE Foundation, Ignacio Velo Antolín, to explore possible forms of cooperation under the Convention “Improving the integration of persons with disabilities in the Middle East.” In attendance was the Director of Projects of the FPSC, Macarena Cotelo, the coordinator of the agreement on behalf of the local partner, Arcenciel, Georges Xanthopoulos, and the delegate of the FPSC in Beirut, Enric Roig. 

 

 

Following a presentation by the local partner and the FPSC itself on the characteristics of the actions scheduled to take place in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt over the next three years, the representative of ONCE assessed the possible ways of collaboration. These included the implementation of technical advice from experts in disability supported by ONCE, content policy for vocational training that will be taught, as well as the design of portal content targeted at the disabled population, which is a planned activity. ONCE also offered the chance to give seminars to our members on various aspects that plans to develop the agreement, ie accessibility in all its forms, employment strategies and actions to sensitize the public opinion in Spain.
