Next Thursday, 6th of June, the CEMOFPSC will celebrate its eighth seminar with the title “The Arab Spring: the conflict in Syria. The current circumstances and their consequences.”

This event is presented as a tool to raise a more profound awareness on the movements in Syria and how these movements affect the country as well as the neighboring countries.

The circumstances in Syria are causing tension in the neighboring countries, in addition to an incessant flow of refugees who are fleeing because of the war. The Syrian situation analysis will shed new light on current events that will help to implement new solutions to specific problems in relation to the internationalization of the conflict, the ethnic and religious minority’s situation and the issue of refugees.

The situation analysis will be carried out with the participation of the following experts: Mr Kawakibi Salam, of the Research Center for Arab Reform Initiative (ARI) (Syria / France), Mr Amani Salah, of the Regional Head Office UN Humanitarian Aid (Jordan), Mr Hala Mustafa, the Editor-in-Chief of the Democracy Review (Egypt), Mr Youssef El-Khalil, the Executive Director of Financial Operations department of the Bank of Lebanon and the President of the Association d’Aide au Développement Rural (Lebanon), Mr Nadim Shehadi, of the Research Chatham House (Lebanon), and Mr Carlos Afonso Gallegos, the ECHO regional Manager in Jordan.
