On 22 January 2021, the defence of Mónica Ríos Valdivieso’s doctoral thesis “La responsabilidad Social Corporativa y su contribución al desarrollo integral de la persona y de los pueblos. Una aproximación desde una antropología filosófica”, which has obtained the highest qualification (“Summa Cum Laude”).
Mónica Ríos has thus become a Doctor of Philosophy, after a brilliant professional career:
- Industrial Engineer from the University of Lima (Peru).
- MBA – PAD School of Management at the University of Piura (Peru).
- Degree in Philosophy with a major in Ethics and Anthropology from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross (Rome).
- Currently, she teaches Philosophy in the areas of Philosophical Anthropology and Social and Business Ethics at the University of Piura, Lima Campus (Peru).
In addition, since 2009, she has been a Trustee of the Social Promotion Foundation, and since June 2019, Secretary General of the NGO Network for the Development of Ibero-American Countries (REDI).
The highlight of her professional career is that she has been able to combine action and reflection. She has worked for many years in the cooperation sector, in the public and private sectors in Peru, in various fields such as formulation, implementation, management and evaluation of results.
All this has allowed for direct knowledge and deep reflection on real problems.
The action and reflection today is embodied in a practical wisdom that offers its new achievement in this thesis on Corporate Social Responsibility.
