Volunteers from the European Volunteer Service (SVE) of the Erasmus + program have come to the Social Promotion Foundation in September to develop a project aimed at promoting intercultural values among children and adolescents.

Emma (Germany), Jovana (Serbia) and Lada (Ukraine) will participate in the project “Next Stop Europe” in the coming months, designing and carrying out intercultural, leisure and free time activities in English These activities will benefit about 100 students in youth associations in Madrid with which Social Promotion Foundation has a collaboration agreement. Workshops on topics related to Europe and other parts of the world will help raise awareness of European citizenship among the young. In addition, EVS volunteers will also lend their support to specific Social Promotion Foundation tasks that arise from day-to-day work.

“Next Stop Europe” is part of a larger Social Promotion Foundation project, “Rumbo al Este” (Head East), which aims to support social initiatives carried out in Youth Associations focused on the integral formation of young people. This intercultural project offers young Europeans the possibility of carrying out an Erasmus + EVS in Spain every year.

The three young people are very excited and have already started volunteering in associations. During their stay in Spain, they will have the opportunity to coexist with other volunteers, work in a relaxed environment, value their knowledge, and contribute ideas to the community and, above all to know about Spain and learn Spanish.
