Javier Martín is the EFE Agency delegate for Israel and Palestine and member of the CEMOFPSC Advisory Committee.

This award recognizes the work of correspondents and special envoys of Spanish media abroad.

The FPSC presented Javier Martin, a member of the Advisory Committee of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies (www.cemofpsc.org), and did so in recognition of his extensive and significant experience in the Middle East and his unwavering commitment in the exercise of his activities with human rights and the defense of freedom.

Javier Martín, before his current position was editor of International at Efe in Madrid, served as special envoy to the wars in Libya and Syria and also was chief of the agency in Iran.

The prize is worth 6,000 euros and a glass sculpture called “Lens of the earth”, and is organized by the Association of Journalists of Segovia.

Together with Javier Martín other envoys sent to especially conflict zones have been chosen finalists. “El Periódico de Catalunya” envoy Marc Marginedas, and “El País” correspondent  in Dubai, Ángeles Espinosa.
