Last April 12th, The Foundation for the Social Promotion of Culture organized the I Board of Directors of Juvenile Associations Seminar in Segovia.
More than 150 people were called in order to talk about the mission of the board of directors as promoter of volunteering, training, sports, or leisure time programs that take place in different neighborhoods of Madrid, Alcalá de Henares, Guadalajara, Segovia, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, thanks to the juvenile associations.
The President of the Juvenile Association Karena’s Board of Directors in Barcelona, Juan Pich-Aguilera, who has been chairing it for more than 20 years, gave a speech on the relevance of juvenile associations in the education of children. Associations are places in which parents and instructors, each one in its own role, involve themselves in the education and healthy growth of children and teenagers.
Economic management, maintenance of headquarters, achieving legality in all that concerns data security; child protection and more relevant matters were discussed during the experiences sitting. Representatives of different associations participated in this sitting, which was useful for meeting common hits and mistakes in order to improve associations’ work.
Nowadays, FPSC has set collaboration agreements with twelve juvenile associations. Those agreements are based on the commitment of training volunteers, the boosting of training meetings such as this Seminar, and the collaboration in leisure and sport activities for children and teenagers.
