The SITUATION of thousands of PEOPLE we work for in MOST VULNERABLE COUNTRIES is going to be EXTREMELY AGGRAVATED due to COVID-19.
Our work continues and your help is essential; they need us to face it.
The spread of COVID-19 will exacerbate the already fragile situation of the population in the countries where we work, marked by internal conflicts, forced displacement, severe food insecurity, acute malnutrition, natural disasters, lack of access to clean water and basic services.
YOUR HELP IS NEEDED IN
Your help will ensure that more than 6,000 vulnerable people in rural West Bank and Gaza improve their crops, access water for agricultural use, ensure production and food security; plus, it will mitigate the effects of the pandemic.
Your aid will go towards supplying protection equipment against COVID-19 for health personnel at the San Gabriel Maternal and Child Hospital in Addis Ababa, and to guarantee the agricultural and livestock production of more than 10,000 vulnerable people in rural areas in the Somali region and Oromia, which suffer from food insecurity problems for several months of the year, and face the effects of climate change and natural disasters.
Your aid will make it possible to rebuild the Litani Women’s Cultural Centre and the churches of St Michael, St Anthony and St Joseph, which were seriously affected by the explosion on 4 August in Beirut, aggravating the fragile situation of the Lebanese population, which is also facing a severe economic crisis and COVID-19.
Despite the outbreak of COVID-19, your help will ensure that more than 600 street children from the Kibera slum in Nairobi can go to school, and have access to safe accommodation and maintenance.
INDIA
Your help will enable over 700 underprivileged women in Delhi to receive vocational training for employment at Kamalini Vocational Training Center. In addition, meals are distributed to families without income from Kamalini, the current state of confinement against COVID-19.
VENEZUELA
Your help is essential to mitigate the negative impact generated by COVID-19 on the persistent humanitarian crisis in the country and enables the food and medicine distribution among 300 vulnerable people, access to clean water for 500 people, and educational and medical care for 200 adolescents at risk of social exclusion.
Your help will guarantee the empowerment of more than 300 women, promoting their entrepreneurship and human rights training, so can face the situation of violence and discrimination they suffer in the country, aggravated by the current serious economic and socio-political crisis, and which will presumably worsen with COVID-19.
Your help will ensure that 300 fishermen and their families living in Sechura Bay, improve production processes and diversify their crops in a sustainable way, manage to face the challenges of natural disasters and climate change, and can continue carrying out the necessary tasks to guarantee the maintenance of activity despite the COVID-19.
