The Social Promotion Foundation has once again contributed to the 2030 Agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, submitting a written statement to the Office of Intergovernmental Support and Coordination for Sustainable Development of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs for the 2022 High-level Segment (HLS) of the of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) (2022 ECOSOC High-level Segment, HLS).

This is a unique opportunity for organizations in consultative status with ECOSOC* to contribute to issues of critical concern to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The written statement of the Social Promotion Foundation in English appears published under number 83 on page 106 of the document Written statements by NGOs in consultative status with ECOSOC, focuses on the work of the Foundation in Guatemala, especially highlighting the objectives to be addressed and the results to be achieved through its program “The capacities of the Kakchiquel population in Joya Grande, Guatemala have been strengthened to guarantee their access to food and the economic and sustainable promotion of their community”, recently started in this country.

The 2022 High-level Segment (HLS) of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) includes the three-day ministerial meeting of the High-level political forum on sustainable development (HLPF) from Wednesday 13 to Friday 15 July 2022, and a one-day HLS ministerial meeting on Monday 18 July 2022.


*The Social Promotion Foundation has had special consultative status since 2001 and general since 2004 before the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations, reserved for international NGOs whose scope of work covers most of the topics on the ECOCOC agenda and its subsidiary bodies and which have a wide geographical scope.

Consultative status offers NGOs access not only to ECOSOC, but also to its numerous subsidiary bodies, to the various UN human rights mechanisms, to special processes on small arms, and also to special events organised by the President of the General Assembly.
