Life is not easy in a refugee camp, and less so if it is in the Gaza Strip, known to many as the world’s biggest prison. Violence, poverty and lack of opportunities mark the daily life of hundreds of thousands of Gaza’s children.

Since Israel’s military intervention in 2009, countless incursions into the area, cases of children with psychological problems, and behavioral disorders and post-traumatic stress disorders have multiplied.

For over a year and a half, the FPSC along with the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem and five civic centers in Gaza implement a psychosocial support program for 5,000 children and their families, funded by the AECI.

Last May six craft exhibitions were made by children in Rafah and Jabalia centers. The children, their families and their communities’ representatives participated in the activities. It was a festive day that got a smile on the smallest children’s faces.
